This is a delicious and tangy lemon sorbet recipe. It is a very refreshing dessert. You can use your ice cream machine to make it or put it in a bowl and freeze overnight. I just love it’s sugary, tangy taste.
INGREDIENTS: Makes about 2 pints or 5 cups
1 3/4 cups water
2 cups sugar
2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice (About 16-18 lemons)
2 tablespoons freshly grated lemon zest
DIRECTIONS:
In a small saucepan over medium heat combine the water and sugar and boil until the sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Stir in the lemon juice and lemon zest and then pour into the bowl of an ice cream maker (Freeze the bowl 24 hours in advance) if you do not have an ice cream maker you can buy one here. Let the ice cream maker run for about 2 hours. When the sorbet has frozen it will still be quite soft. For best results freeze for 3-4 hours.
